Terms of Service
Last updated: July 31, 2026
These terms govern a merchant’s access to and use of Iris, a conversational product-discovery widget and merchant dashboard. By installing Iris or creating an account, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the business you represent.
1. The service
Iris embeds a chat widget on a merchant’s storefront that lets shoppers describe what they’re looking for in plain language and be matched to products already in the merchant’s catalog. It includes an optional virtual try-on feature, a merchant dashboard with analytics and configuration, and, on paid plans, usage beyond the free trial’s limits.
2. Accounts
You need an Iris account to access the merchant dashboard. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Connecting your store
Installing Iris grants it read access to your product catalog through Shopify’s OAuth flow, limited to the scopes necessary to index your catalog and operate the widget. Iris does not modify your catalog or place orders on your behalf. Disconnecting or uninstalling Iris from Shopify revokes this access.
4. Subscription plans, trials, and billing
New accounts get a 7-day free trial on a limited slice of their catalog. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe; you can review, change, or cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal linked from your dashboard. Each plan has limits on products indexed, connected stores, and included virtual try-on credits, described on our pricing page and enforced automatically. Additional AI-credit packs are one-time purchases and are non-refundable once granted, except where required by law.
We’ll give advance notice of any price change before it applies to your next billing cycle.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Iris in a way that violates any applicable law;
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or plan limits;
- use Iris to process catalog content or shopper content you don’t have the rights to;
- probe, scan, or interfere with the integrity or performance of the service;
- use the service to build a directly competing product-finder.
6. Your catalog data
You retain ownership of your product catalog and any other content you provide. You grant Iris a license to index, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and your shoppers.
7. Shopper-submitted content
Where you enable virtual try-on, you’re responsible for making sure shoppers can give informed consent before uploading a photo, consistent with our Privacy Policy. A shopper who uploads a photo grants Iris and its AI providers a limited license to process that photo solely to generate the requested preview.
8. AI-generated content
Chat responses and virtual try-on previews are generated by AI models and may be imperfect. Try-on previews are illustrative only, they are not a guarantee of fit, color accuracy, or how a product will actually look in person.
9. Intellectual property
Iris’s software, branding, and underlying technology are our property or our licensors’. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you, beyond the limited right to use the service as described here.
10. Third-party services
Iris relies on third-party services, including Shopify, Stripe, and various AI model providers, each governed by their own terms. We aren’t responsible for outages, errors, or acts of those third parties.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iris will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
13. Termination
You may stop using Iris and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or for non-payment, after reasonable notice where practical.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated to merchants in advance.
